Turbo snails lifespan and reason for demise??

My tank has been up and running for over 6 months, soft corals, a few hard corals and fish have all done very well, have several type of snails that have been in the tank for 5 months or longer, but I can not keep turbo snails alive. I have bought the larger ones, keep tank perameters in check everything else does fine.

is there possibly something I am missing that turbos are really sensitive to???

I've never had any long term success with turbos either. Think they might be be used to temperatures that are a little cooler then what we might keep are tanks at. My tank will vary between 75 to 86 throughout the year and no luck.

Is it possible they don't have enough of a food source? Perhaps tehres a predator in your tank you can't find? (crab, flatworm, etc)

Just a few more thoughts to add to the temperature

Try to buy tecta sp. star shells. I bought 8 for my tank over 3 years ago and i still have 6 of them.

Mexican Turbos and Margaritas do well in my tank, as do nassarius, tongan conchs, ceriths, bumble bees and stomatellas, but astreas almost always die. I started out with a good sized group of them, and have one survivor.
