turkey blasting sps for aefw

As stated before, the Bayer dipping for 6-7 weeks works as long as you are doing the dips. I did double strength dips every six days. And yes rock and all for some of the encrusted pieces. Have bath stations ready for rinsing thoroughly before returning the pieces to your tank. This part is key!

You must eradicate the little bastards.

what is the dosage for the double dose? I already bought the bayer? I think I have read one post where they used around 325 ml in a 2.5 gallon mix. I believe I will be doing several methods at the same time.
thanks

Well I tore down the tank tonight and dipped the rocks that were my high end stuff and were well encrusted. I used bayer dip at about 6ml per cup. My other corals that were not encrusted I dipped and moved into the little frag tank that I have set up. My red planet was covered in eggs so I trashed the coral and torched the encrusted part. I didnt see any other eggs. I had several pieces break off while I was dipping the rock so I just put them in my temp frag tank and torched the remaining encrusted coral. i din have quite a bit of small pieces broken off from all the handling of the rocks so I have alot on new frags mounted for a upcoming swap next month. should be pest free after a month of dipping for selling. It was hard to tear things apart but in the long run I will hopefully gotten rid of the worms reworked some of my rock work and gotten rid of some of the corals that I didnt really care too much about. I rinsed each rock in a 2 step process to try and get rid of all the bayer but I am sad to say I lost 2 cleaner and one peppermint shrimp. If anyone wants to dip their rock work like I did I would recommend removing your shrimp completely from the system till you can pull any residual out of the water with carbon. Only problem with the bayer other then the shrimp you can not see what is going on in the dip tank to see if you are getting any worms off the rocks. For next weeks treatment I will be using a larger dip container and be more careful of the rinse process. All tole it took me about 4 to 5 hours for this initial treatment and tear down. Next week should be alot quicker. Most of the time was waiting on the 20 min soak time for the larger pieces. I sure hope all this trouble will get all those bastar--

No offense... But this is why I now only purchase from known quantities when it comes to acro frags. Selling the frags in a month out of a tank going through bayer dips for AEFW will hopefully make for some stressed corals and hopefully no one is interested in purchasing them. I have had good friends leave the hobby completely after getting these vile little bastards! Just one mans opinion.

No offense taken. It will not be till the end of September and I will list what I have been doing with the tank and frags in the swapper listing. If I feel there is any chance they might have worms still I wont sell them. I wouldnt want someone else going through this. I am pretty sure I got these from one of 2 online retailers that I purchased from back in the winter. Their frags were the very first to die and at that point I didnt realize that I had aefw so I thought that I had water issues. stupid me.
