Turnbelle 233.02

Roger,

I'm in process of starting up another tank and am going a bit retro. I'm rehab-ing an older 233 (or is it a 235, I forget) Skimmer. Unfortunately, the Turbelle pump that powers the skimmer seems to have a problem.

The magnetic rotor (3000.05) has a plastic base. Mine is separated from the magnet (could explain the loud noise on operation and the vibrating). I don't think an epoxy reattachment would have acceptable durability in this application. The Cooling duct (3000.03) is split, no doubt from previous owner abuse as this is my first dismantle. Also, it appears to me that the drive shaft (3000.07) doesn't extend far enough to engage the hole in the upper bearing (3000.04). The brake ring, bearing shell and retainer all seem OK. The impeller on this guy has 6 fins....seems like a lot to power the skimmer. Is this the correct impeller or should it have a 4 blade impeller.

As usual, your fine help is appreciated in advance. With the aged nature of these parts, would it be better to process it through you or one of the stores? Bottom line, I'm betting I need a new 3000.05 and perhaps a shaft (3000.07) if it needs to nest in the bearing hole. I think I have a spare cooling duct lying around. Hopefully these parts are still available and "sold separately".

I would suggest part 3000.50, it is every part except the impeller blades. The ones you have sound correct. The magnet has been improved and the plastic is now graphite reinforced so the braking off of the bottom is no longer an issue.
