Turning generator off

Lol phone is plugged into power strip running off gen fully charged gotta love technology. Hey u still got power and you're on here with me lmao

KRAZE let me scoop up his 500w inverter. Buncha us played monopoly under one lamp. Tank has been under blankets and enjoying itself at a perfect 82 degrees. Powers been out for 8 hours and the temp in the house went from 75 to 73 - at least it's not cold outside!

Battery airstone 7pm-11pm, inverter (pumps and heater, normal nighttime operation) 11pm-2am, airstone 2am-8am. I'll be up to check the tank temp - if we're above 80, I'm going back to bed. If not, I'll run the inverter for a few hours and bring it to temp.

Feeling good so far, and I owe all my help and success to people I've met on this forum. Thanks all, hope you're doing well.

Shut the genny down at 11 and put an air stone in from 11 till 6am .. Just started the genny....

.5 degree temp loss overnight... Not bad, the tanks in my basement so that prob helps too.

I need a shot to de-stress... Is it too early for that?

My tank also survived the night. I shut it down from 1 to 6 like franky. Luckily my propane stove kept on burning so it was easy to keep the temp right. Gen is full and running. I got 10 hours of runtime on half a tank.

Now to start clearing trees from the driveway. And the one that fell on the shed. Poor shed

I read that since a state of emergency was declared it is ok to take a shot before noon. Enjoy!

I get about 3 hours per tank. Tank is only about 1 gallon though. Got to figure out how to gravity feed from a larger tank so I don't have to keep refilling...

Never too early lol. Tree cutting people are outside working on tree hope light company comes next don't want to pull generator duty again tonight lol

Glad to hear it franky....im on gen duty right now...luckily it runs for quite awhile on a tank of gas...had it on since 6 this morning and still have a half a tank...

Not sure when power will be restored...I get nervous having it off as i woke up and all my tank residents looked a lil angry...corals had super PE though...lol

If you pull the fuel line off the carb and put a long one on going into a larger gas can if you do it right it will work :)

We ran a honda 3000w generator from noon to 6pm today. I believe it's a three gallon tank and we used a quarter of gas. It was great. All I was running was the fridge and the tank.

Those Honda generators are no joke...super good on fuel and real quiet...I gave a Chinese genny that goes 12 hours on 4 gallons...able to run the whole tank or heat and flow and fridge...I've been alternating in order to keep food from spoiling.

Gonna take the opportunity to go lights out for a few days to battle cyano....do massive water change and see if I can get to the route of the issue.

sent from never never land...

Lost power yesterday at 4:00pm, and switched to generator at 4:05pm lol. Been running 3 tanks, a fridge, and my coffee pot (the essentials) 24/7 since. Don't even shut down to refuel. Full tank lasts about 10 hours.

Just got power back this morning, at long last ! Generator was great during the day...but during the night I switched over to a battery and inverter to power my return pump only. The battery is a big one, Trojan J185H-AC (225AH, 12v) and lasts for days with such a small load and of course the battery can be recharged while the generator is running.

I must say this is the first storm I have had the generator for and what a weight off my shoulders not having to worry much about my livestock...and two bonuses, no wasted food from the fridge/freezer and a happy wife who can watch 'The Voice' :)
