Turtle Grass

I am in the process of setting up a Seahorse Tank. I am looking for some good macroalgae to put in the main tank. I really like the look of the turtle grass and was wondering what specific care I need to give these plants.

Also can anyone make any suggestions for other macros I should look at trying to get?

Unlike macro's, turtle grass is a vascular plant with a root system. They need a deep sand bed, preferably organic rich and old. The muckier the better Also bright lighting and moderate to strong currents are favored. I also find additions of iron supplements are benificial. As for macro's, gracilaria and codium have a branching structure that seahorse's like

well when i was collecting-snorkelling in the keyes, they were is mud MUD. There were upside down jellyfish everywhere. I sunk 3 feet down in the mud while walking in the mud. MUCK thats what it is, with bright direct lighting and no water movement near-shore. exept about 100 feet out. then there is a strong surge flow

It is in very thick, like what yoh said, muck. Very soft substrate, that is typical down there in the keys. There were tons of Cassieopia (sp?) jellies, and even a few seahorses. Lettuce nudibranches, cukes, and horseshoe crabs were plentiful......
