turtles

I don't know the laws in New York, there are places that sell dbts, you may need a permit or bill of sale to keep one.
railcar79 you think your turtle is lazy you need to see mine,a,1 year old alligator snapper.

My paint is a 7 year old turtle I found him as a hatchling, brought him home in a pill bottle. I have had snappers too, and I used to have a soft shelled turtle too

Soft shells are really neat turtles,I have a young red ear about the size of a half dollar that was in my front yard almost ran over it with the lawn mower.I will keep it until around September and release it back in the bottom.

My softie was run over, I kept him a year then released him. He was one wicked fast turtle, and mean. My snappers were all found at quarter size, raised several years and given to aquariums. I am going to keep Rock my paint till he grows old and dies. I figure I got another 30 years or so till that happens.

I have had some common snapping turtle but a alligator is cool to watch it wiggle the lure to attract it's food.Softies are mean as heck.

My softie was mean, fast and had the longest neck I have ever seen on a turtle. He could bite you no matter where you held his shell.
