my buddys tank. he has 4 vlamingii tangs in there and am trying to get rid of 3, but they're near impossible to catch with his setup.

They seem to get along fine in the video, but who knows during feeding time :). I can't imagine trying to catch the Vlamingii tangs. Maybe borrow or buy a few Brute water containers, drain the tank, and scoop them out.

Start feeding every day with a lg net they will get used to it and expect food when they see it then just scoop them up when they come to it for food!!! Works with my hippo!

I don't think you want to use nets with tangs. The scapel(their razor, forgot what its called) can get stuck in a net pretty easily from what I have read. What are you doing with them after you catch them?

well its my buddy's tank. theres a local 900g tank guy thats willing to take them. hes also looking to move into a new house soon too. so when the tank goes down for the move, thats when he'll depart with the fish.

Definitely not a thought out stocking list. :( Your best bet is to just drain it and catch them. Not fun I know, but trying to catch three tangs out twelve in a small reef environment will not end well. All of the fish will likely end up with wounds and scratches, even the ones your not trying to catcvh. And corals could end up severely damaged if not worse. While your at it, you might as well talk him out of the fourth one, the naso, and the sailfin. I'm sure you won't want to tear his tank down to catch fish every year.

Whats the dems?

72x30x30.

this is a vid i took of him feeding about 5 months back.

i think with a big net, he could get them while feeding b/c they come right up to the surface where he hangs the nori.
