After six month of planing, learning, buying and saving money I have final finshed my 2x29 gallon project. It was born on December 1, 2005. I used the live rock and sand from my 20g high and 15G tall.

Lighting is 250se watt MH

VERY VERY nice!

that is going to be a sweet tank when fully stocked. i'm jealous!

btw, thats a nice MH retro you got there. ;) what do you think of the performance for the price? (i'm assuming you got it off hellolights)

also, what gph do the Quite One 4000's put out? I'm assuming you have 2, since I see one coming from the sump. How much flow do you think the SCWD's cut down off the pump?

just curious...

Nice tank in progress. I started a 29 in Dec 2004 and my next big change for that will be a 29 sump so in was good to see yours. I plan to put the sump in my basement so I need to get an electrician to add a circuit for it. I would do it myself but my wife has no faith in my electical skills. She has no reason, just paranoia.

I got the MH from HelloLights.com for $150 including shipping, but i also had to build my hood. So for about $200. It is a good price. Also I was acclimating my coral at the time with screens so the lights are a little dim.

The Quite One is the closed loop at 1070 GPH.

The sump return is a Mag 5, but i am going to up grade to a Mag 7 I bought from a friend for $20

I am not sure how much flow the SCWD cuts down on but with the two pump it is a good amount of water flow.

Thanks Everyone

This is exactly the size and design I'm looking to start. This will be my first salt water endevour. I do plan on putting the planning and prep you have into mine. I've got to move next month, but should start the tank soon after.

Dave,

If you plan on doing a closed loop I would go with a lower pump. the QO 4000 is too powerful for the Shrooms and Hammers. Good luck with your set up.
