Two Clowns Lost Need Help!!

InADream

I'm That Guy!!
As the title says I lost 2 false percs to Brook this week... I noticed it last sunday and on monday I quarantined them... Well today they both died... Now what are my steps to take in order to replenish the display tank and start over... I have heard tons of ways but wanted to ask the experts...

What I am looking to do this time around is put in 2 true perculas and one GBTA... Should I QT the fish and anemones for awhile and will it help with hosting...

thanks for looking...

Ok Figured everyone would ask, and forgot to add up top...

Water parms are in great shape, no amonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates... Tank has been up and running 5 weeks now...

TIA

You should always QT clownfish, its extremely helpful, and will increase chances for survival, and although your tank is perfect in water chem, although i do not know your salinity and others, it is too early for an anemone, and I'm sure others will agree with me on both issues.

What other parms do you need to know about... My salinty is steady at 1.024... I have a friend who is going to give me a flase perc that lost its mate and I am going to try and get a smaller one tomorrow and get them together in a QT...

TIA

Specific Gravity should be 1.026, IMO there's no reason to keep it anywhere but as close to natural seawater as possible.

Your tank should mature for at least 6 months before you even start thinking about an anemone. Also, I think it'd be best to leave your tank fishless for 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that the life cycle of any parasites left in the tank is broken and it's safe for future inhabitants.

Sorry to hear about your loss...and I wish you best of luck in the future!
