Two fish pictures I really liked

Just thought I'd share... I really like these guys and they move fast so are hard to photograph, I feel these ones turned out well.

looks like a Dussumieri Tang,
Acanthurus dussumieri def not a clown tang

Yep, it's a dussu tang, one of my favorite fish I've ever owned.

In the 1st example I would Photoshop the lower left corner to blend with the rest of the background.

Yeah, that is probably a good idea actually.

I like blacking out the background on some fish photos, but it would just make this guy not stand out at all

you could just patch that bottom left corner and it will blend in perfectly

nice shots I think if you softend the background on the fisrt pic it would really help the focus of the fish Great Job!

I love Achilles Tangs. To late for me though since I have a Powder Blue. I see from the glint of light in the Achilles eye you used on camera flash. Did you dial it down for that shot?

Nope, just the default flash settings. I was standing about 5 feet away from the tank so that helped make it not too powerful.

The Achilles is a good looking fish, period. I like the expression on the face of the Dussu. What makes him one of your favorites? Does your GHT pout when you say things like that?

Sorry if this is OT. I was thinking about another shot you posted a while back that showed a fish scale pierced by a tang tail dagger. A few weeks back I had to remove my Purple Tang from my tank (he developed a fondess for my acans) and when I finally netted him, he had both knives out which gave me an opportunity to see them for the first (and hopefully last!) time.

The dussu is cool just because he is a relatively large fish with great coloration. He is pretty calm, easy to feed and pretty personable, all the things you want in a fish.

A fish scale pierced by a tang? I dont remember posting that, I dont know that I've ever seen that, you probably have me convinced with someone else

And btw, I sold my goldheart to a local lady in town who wanted some good triggers. I also sold my niger So yeah, the gold heart doesnt care what I say anymore.

I certainly remember the fish scale pierced by a surgeon fish along with the scar of the injured fish. It was one of the neatest reef-related images I've seen.

To be honest, I'd really like to know too, I like tangs obviously I'd like to see the picture but I dont recall ever seeing it.

The only reason I'm 100% sure it isnt my photo is I've never yet had damage to my other fish from my tangs, so I dont think it could have been me.

I could always go through my 50+ pages of photobucket But I'm sure it wasnt me.
