Hello all

Two of my fish I believe have ich. A flame angel and banner.
I'm having tri sulfate overnights to me but I have some major concerns.
I have multiple soft corals in the tank and I do not have a way to QT the fish. And I know the mess aren't reef safe. Anyone have any ideas for me? Really don't want lose anything in the tank

Please help!!

I just started a second tank. 55 gallon. Two pieces of live rock, 1 bag of dry sand and 1 bag of live sand. Tank has only need running for 4 days. If there's an option that includes this tank please share. All help and input is greatly appreciated.

Chloroquine Phosphate (NLS Ick-Shield Powder) may be an alternative if you use the 55 gallon as a hospital tank. Though if that is wild collected live rock I would remove it before using any medication.

yes, it is wild caught. i will pull it out and set it up today.

now, if i move the fish to this tank for treatment...isn't the original tank infested with the disease as well? Wont this just come back when i put them back in? and what about my other fish? if they aren't showing signs are they fine to stay in the original tank?

Again, thanks for you help/input!

If any fish in a display tank has ich (or velvet, etc) the tank has ich (or velvet, etc). So yes reinserting a treated fish will reinfect. I suggest reading the stickies.

thanks. think ill QT all the fish and treat. let the DT sit for the 8+weeks.
last thing i want to do is watch the fish die or have the whole tank crash.

thanks again for your help.

If you have wrasses or pipefish, don't treat them with CP. Some wrasses and all pipefish/seahorses can't handle CP. Those fish have to be cleared of ich via TTM.

Thanks.
Banner fish
Dwarf Flame Angel
Coral Beauty
Dwarf lion fish
Snowflake eel
tomato Clown

Is what is currently in the tank.

They should all be fine with CP as long as you treat in a clean and uninfected HT/QT and only for 2 to 4 weeks.

well, sad to say... 3 fish have died. banner, flame and coral beauty :(

clown, eel and lion fish are still going strong as of now.

going to leave them in the HT tank, as for the DT what should i do about the corals/anemones? are they fine to stay in the DT and will the ich still die off even with them in the tank?
