Well Its officially me successfully keeping a mystery wrasse 0 and fish tank killing it 2. The first was killed by a bi color. So after a while Ruff Waters got in a nice big one and I thought this was the way to go as it could fend for itself. I put him and all was well until an hour later when I figured I would feed to see how he was doing only to find him suntanning on top of the tank under the halides. I have never had a jumper.

Sad day...I saw that fish in Ruff Waters the other day...amazing looking fish...sorry for your loss.

Wow, thats rotten luck. Maybe you should cover the tank with egg-crate. Of course you have a full hood so who would have thought it would find a dry spot if it jumped.

I like the egg crate idea. I have never had a jumper so it has never concerned me, but a couple pieces of egg crate is much cheaper than the fish.

Jim,
Sorry to hear that! Steven warned me with the velvet wrasse I bought from him and after watching him feed I can see why the need for a top! You can hear him come out of the water as soon as the lid is opened to put food in. He jumps out about 1/2 an inch, so I figure he would come all the way out if he thought he saw food. I have glass only because I do not have a hood to cover the eggcrate.
