Two Month Growth GIF

It's been a little while since I've done one of these, so I figured I'd share the most recent.

This is a 2 month growth GIF flipping between photos taken on 9-1-2015 and 11-1-2015 from a camera that is mounted to the side of my tank.

Older growth shots are available on my website (Link in Sig)

Nice photo. That seems to me to be very strong growth for just 2 months. What are your tank's parameters? Are you feeding the corals or using any amino supplements for example?

Thank you Reef Frog!
The tank is pretty simple, Large BB Fuge/settling tank, nice skimmer, good flow with Tunze pumps. No UV, or Zeovit, or GFO, or Bio Pellets or anything.

I use 4x54W Tek t5 bulbs with 2 strips of DIY 3W LED's to supplement.

I feed what I would consider to be quite a bit. I rotate Misys, Flake, Nori, and Pellets for the fish, and the coral get Zoo Plankton or Cyclops, or Reef Feast? (I think that's what it's called) or whatever other coral food I come across. I don't specifically dose Amino acids, but one of my coral foods does contain it. I feed once in the evening for the fish, and once in the morning as I leave for the coral. My skimmer shuts off for 20 min while I feed to make sure the coral gets some before it's sucked out.

Perams are pretty simple too:
8DKH
420CA
1300 MAG

I do a water change about every 3 weeks using Reef Crystals.

Thanks!

Very cool!! Like some of the growth shots for corals on your site.

Thanks Fearyaks!!! I need to get some new coral and FTS shots up there! I've been busy house hunting the last couple weeks - hopefully I will get a chance to update before I move the tank.

That is very strong and steady growth for just 2 months, for others that's more like 6 months. Awesome work though, very fun to watch!

You are a Genius! I stole your idea and kind of tried to make one myself but not as great as yours, I tried though!

Heres my 2 months!

Thank you NuLuxe!

I actually have an even funner plan up my sleeve. This little camera has been sitting there taking a couple pics per hour (during daylight hours) since the tank started cycling in April. I plan to put together about a 1 min timelapse that takes us through the tank's entire life up until the move I will have to do next month.

That is awesome bobssecrtsn!!! Thank you for putting together one of your own :) That blue tiped acro in the back right is growing like CRAZY for you! Very nice.

I'd love to use FTS shots for this, but I have a ton of trouble getting the camera in exactly the same spot. I need to find a good way to measure from the tank to the camera and get it exactly perfect.

Get your camera on a tripod. use masking tape for where you set the legs and you can take the same shot every month or so ;). I did this with a budding rose a few years back.

My wife would totally throw away the masking tape. Even if she didn't the dogs would think getting it up was a game.

It's a great idea but I need another way to mark the spot in a way that it will stay marked month to month.

Here is a FTS one I threw together. It is old - most recent pic is a few months ago - but it shows that I need a standard height and position of the tripod.

Those are nice gifs, guys. I can't wait to see the time life of your tank.

Thank you! I can't either. I think it will be really fun to put together. Unfortunately at the end of this month I'm moving the tank. So the rockwork will change at the 5 month mark, but I still want to do this.
