1. Does anyone have any idea what kind of algae this is the tank is less then 2 months old its only growing on the sand. It doesn't look like red slime or standard green hair algae. Its kinda a cross between the two, long and stringy but red and slimy.

2. Is it ok to mix active carbon in my two fishes reactor with my phosphate remover?

Thanks!!!

looks like cyno bacteria ,, try to siphon it out .. make sure your skimmer is working well and light photo period around 6 to 7 hours or less till it goes away ,,

1: looks like cyanobacteria, check your NO3 and PO4 levels. It is somewhat normal, but it can also be prevented.

2: from my understanding, im going to say no.

cyano and you can mix them put the carbon on the bottom between the sponges so it don't tumble and the gfo on top so it can tumble. i think the brs reactor comes with 3 sponges to do that

You can run carbon and GFO together but it's more efficient to have 2 separate reactors so that you can set the flow for the GFO so that it tumbles.

^^^ what the punisher said. They are cheap enough that running two is the way to go. I use 2 x TLF's for my 60g, 2 x BRS singles for the 150.
