1. I'm going to do a lights out treatment for my cyano for approx. 3 days....will the SPS be ok?

2. What's the safest way to remove an SPS frag from a plug?

Thanks in advance!

1. They should be fine.

2. Bone cutters or you should just be able to break it off with your hands. You might leave a little bit on the plug...but it will grow into another frag.

No problem. I've done the same thing in the past. In fact, a couple years ago, we had an ice storm here. The corals were dark for 7 days. I had a generator for the heater and circulation. I was surprised, but didn't have a single loss.

I appreciate the help and that's great to hear everything made it! I would have been standing over the tank with a flash light lol I posted some frags in the ID section and it's be awesome if you could take a peak at em!

alternate to bone cutters is cheap side-cutters (electrical tool)...

and everything else he said... LOL

ive read that turning th lights off for a day or two can simulate a storm, and the corals will look even better.
