There's no debating they get large... but how fast they get there seems to be the magic question with tangs.

Thank you. I knew I wanted tangs, so I tried to aquascape as best I could to suit their needs.

Alright alright, my "little theory" has enough bullet holes that I will sink it. I am still getting the yellow tang though, and hopefully I will have a larger tank for him eventually. :rollface:

Tswifty: Your aquascaping is amazing. How many attempts did it take you to come to that? Did you use PVC, rods, or epoxy? Your 90 is so spacious that it looks like a much larger tank. Also, what is your flow rate?

I have 3 Koralia 3's and my eheim 1262 return pump for flow.

That gives me about 3,200 gph of flow in the tank, which is about 35x turnover.

So far all the SPS seem to be loving it.

Your aquascaping does really make the tank seem alot bigger. But now we're getting off topic.

A lot of people keep yellow tangs in tanks smaller than 90 gallons and they do well so one will fit into your tank well. You might also want to consider one of the bristle-tooth tangs like a chevron or tomini. They stay smaller than alot of tangs and are generally really peaceful.

Yeah, I really like the two spot bristletooth tang (Ctenochaetus binotatus), and the tomini tang. Also I believe Atlantic Blue Tangs (Acanthurus coeruleus) stay rather small. A lot of places list them maxing out at 9" but I believe I read somewhere that in the home aquarium they usually only get to 6" or 7"

No... Same as you, I looked for them, but couldn't seem to find any in stock.

I think they had one in the Diver's Den a few months ago. They are absolutely beautiful fish. I know an RC member has one, and posted a picture of it on Kar93's "Show off your tangs" thread. The colors are absolutely stunning.

They are really beautiful fish. My parents wouldn't let me buy one from live aquaria. For some reason they don't support buying live animals online, Go figure. The only way I could get one is if I find one locally.

If this is your 125 gallon tank I would say you probably could. Just make sure you add them at the same time, or if this won't work add the yellow tang first, as they are usually more passive.

Here is how I handled the "two tang" issue in my DT. See the two separate rock formations? Each tang has his/her own cave to hide and sleep at night... no fighting needed for dominance... the Blue I have had since it was half dollar size. The Yellow was introduced shortly after upgrading to the current tank.

Give them a place to hide and plenty of swimming room, and you should be okay...
