Would they provide any sort of wave action? Would it be worth it? Are they powerful enough? I am getting a 541G 130x31.5x30.5 and am trying to decide between tunze and these. thanks for any help!

For a 541 gallon aquarium, two 3000gph is not an appropriate amount of flow. Please consider at least four pumps, two placed on the sides and two placed on the back wall. You may also want to consider as many as six pumps.

I would have two closed loops as well but I was really wanting the vortechs for some sort of wave action if that was possible?

The closed loop would come out the two inside holes.

would 4 pumps be able to make any sort of wave action?

So far we can confirm that 3 pumps, when placed on the same side of the tank, were able to create a wave on a 7' aquarium. I think to increase the possibility of creating a wave in such a long tank, your best option would be 6 pumps, but four on one side of the aquarium may work.

Even if you do not have a strong surface wave, there will still be sub-surface waves creating rich flow throughout the tank.
