Is the pic for real or photoshop great looking avatar, but am very curious about it and where it came from if real.

Thanks

pretty sure it was a wild colony that came into our LFS over a year ago. it was almost completely bleached out when he got it.......looked like your every day pink stylo except for the long branch like growth....

obviously it looks allot better now. ;)

i'm interested to see how it compares to my other 2 pink stylo's (one with blue polyps the other with aqua-green polyps)

I can assure you it is for real and an accurate pic in the link above, i only adjusted for white balance to make it less blue and more accurate to what it looks like in the tank with all the lights on it.
When i take top downs my t5's are facing the ceiling so my tank looks more blue for those shots than it normally does. It also helps to disturb the stylo so it retracts its polyps, otherwise the colors are harder to see behind the blue polyps.

these pics are only cropped/resized, nothing else touched.

my avatar looks photoshopped, but it wasn t, just the result of having to compress it to 8192k to meet rc rules.

As to where it came from, i bought it at a great lfs in richmond, va in july of last year; here is a pic from when i bought it.

the avatar pic is the one in the linked thread, jpeg compression made it look a bit weird, but it's the same pic.

front shots, taken tonight

Anthony. Definitely knocking on wood on this comment but if you haven't, please frag a piece and keep it in a separate tank.

was done when i first got it.

That's great! It's rare to see a coral that is that old in the original buyers system.

I'd love to see a fts of the tank now, and hear about what has changed and what you learned over the last 9 years.

It's hard to get a fts so here is the most recent best shots on my phone
