type of water for water changes?

I am new to the hobby I have been using ro/di water for water changes and tap water at times. I was thinking of going to the the local water store to buy water for the changes. But I understand that thier water is 100% clean there is no clorine, bacteria, etc. which is great but what should I add to the water if any thing besides salt to make sure the water is up to par?? Thanks guys for your help.

If you have a ro.di unit then use that water for water changes. If you don't have one, then you would be best off buying a $150 one then buying tons of gallons of water because that would add up over time.

In the long run, having your own filter will be cheaper.

Find out what kind of filtration the local water company uses. If it is RO/DI (probably not, maybe just RO) then that would be fine.

Drinking water standard would not be the same as "reef tank standard".

Just salt and the water.

If you keep hard corals or clams, it may be worthwhile to check your calcium and alkalinity. If it is low, you can use a 2-part additive to raise it, however don't add it unless you test for it.
