Yes that about says it. I would take a top shot...but I would have to turn off my power head on that side. I'm sure it would not start up again and I would have to take it apart. Don't have the time to do that right now. My monty's are out growing my tank, I just cut them back from time to time.

Boy I am going to have a great tank between 2011 to 2014. I better start making plans now. Dont want to wait until the last minute.
Sorry I havent made it out yet. If my wife takes me to one more Christmas party, I'll probably need a new liver. I'll definately be out after the holiday.

OK i finally finished readin this whole thing now what i REALLY REALL Y want to know is WHY is it that Leng Sy was the only person in the WORLD to aquire such a coral from such a HUGE ocean i dont get it at all also like someone else noted everyone who has done anything in this hobby should know corals will look and grow diffrent in others tanks that is one of the main reasons why you never should empty someone elses water into your tank PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know why it is that Leng Sy was the only person in the world to ever have this coral was it the only piece to ever grow in the ocean and he was lu8cky enough to get the whole entire colony and strip the whole genus from the ocean ?

Now that you read the whole thread you should have fresh in your mind the progression of this thread. Outside of the "ugly" parts that occured, the thread can be broken into two parts.
Part I of thread:
- First, there was the search for a frag or colony that was a direct descendent from the original colony that Leng Sy had.
Part II of thread:
- Since Steve Tyree could not find proof that any of the frags coming from the original Leng Sy colony (See above) have survived, the focus then became to find a coral that matches all of the characteristics that have been observed of the Leng Sy coral.
In conclusion, I don't see where it was stated that Leng Sy had the only coral that possed those charactersistics. I don't belive anyone out there believes that there aren't exact duplicates of this coral out there. But there are many corals that resemble it but yet have a characteristic that differentiates them as well. I have two other morphs that at first glance look very much like it but when you look at them closely they are different than my Leng Sy like coral. For example, one of them is a perfect match on everything else except the polyps are not white. If I painted white dots all over it, it would be difficult to tell them apart.
Hope this kind of puts it in a nutshell.

Growth patterns can / will be different in different tanks but there are certain characteristics that remain the same regardless. This not only happens in tanks it also happens on the reefs. I can think of several reason why you should not dump someone elses tank water into your tank but determining the look and growth patterns of a coral is not one of them.

lol im not mad its just amazing how everyone wants this one monti cap like there isnt anyone in the world that has it im sure 1/2 of these out there that we have are the same he had just changed in the years a little bit i have 2 orange caps that are from the same mother colony and they dont look alike and i know there the same i was there when they were fragged thats what my whole point is the green w/ purple rim w/ white polyps to me are the nicest lookin ones out there and resmemble the Leng Sy cap also what i dont underestand is how does a coral get a persons name tagged to it i have a few steve tyree frags i got from a freind and what makes them his ? just wondering
