New pump new problem. I received the new pump but now I get an annoying clicking sound everytime it cycles. I've tried repositioning the pump, nothing helps.

I am assuming this is the 6215 wavebox pump? The new pumps do have a slight click, we are working on it and a new drive unit will fix this. The original wavebox had the same problem and it took a while to work this out. I am sorry, but I don't have a better answer, we have a few prototypes in long term testing and the fix will be a simple retrofit. For now you can reduce the noise by sliding the disk up a little (1-3mm) on the shaft and making sure the new sponge was installed under the pump and both black orings are in place on the prop housing. The old sponge is no longer used. The noise will also reduce a bit after a week or two of running.

Wow, OK. It's the pump you just sent me to replace my other one that went bad, so yes 6215. My tank is in the wall and the filter is in the basement so it is totally quiet except for this loud click now. It is really loud, you can hear it all the way across the room. I will do the things you said, but please put me on the list to get the fix. Can you let me know when you have a fix or should I remind you? Thanks.

Please remind me, it should be ready in July. I think if you slide the disk forward and let it run in, much of the click will be removed. The click comes from the drive unit slapping the back of the pump on start up. Raising the disk takes up the slack that it can move against, but if you raise it too much the drive unit will fly forward and slap against the front of the pump.

I tried all that the click is better but still an issue. I will remind you in July. Sure you would not want me to test one of those solutions for you? LOL

The main problem is the solution requires a Titanium shaft, not the titanium alloy we have now, it will corrode underneath the shock absorber that is being added so until the parts are all ready we have to work with what we have, but essentially the new one will be a titanium shaft, and a disk with a silicon shock absorber.
