Ugh, just moved into my new tank, to discover its not completely level..

Silly as I am, I didn't check to see first. Now after most of the things have gone in, I take a step back and notice there is a 1/4 inch difference in the water level from one end to the other. The tank is 30 gallons, and 3.2 feet long (which is the side that is not level)

Will this be alright, or do I have really have to empty it completely? :headwally:

The stand should be fine, had some people chime in and confirm - and just in case I also installed to large brackets supporting the table that can hold more than the required weight

I dont think it should be a problem structurally, but it would annoy the hell out of me seeing it not leveled. Jut make sure tank is properly supported and sitting flat on the table top.

IMHO, as long as that table you are using as a stand has been properly reinforced, it will almost certainly be fine. If it is wobbly in the least, find something else to use.

It is not the least bit wobbly

Ive put a lot of effort into making the setup look aesthetic, and im afraid a couple of shims would ruin the look :/

shimming it would be the least invasive and easiest to do.

You should be able to get the shims under the legs so you can't see them.

If you don't like that idea then you could always empty the tank and put some self leveling foam underneath it.

While a small piece of wood cut/painted to fit with the legs would be the easiest..second solution is to drain/move the tank and shave some off one of the legs..or install screw adjustable feet or whatever...
Tanks gotta move though...

As everyone else has said, with that size tank, as long as the stand top is flat, you won't have a problem. The stress on the tank seams becomes an issue when the tank bottom is not evenly supported.

So, it's the aesthetic of the differing water level vs the aesthetic of "something" added to the stand. As Mcgyver said, wood blocks (or rounds, depending upon the shape of the stand's legs) that are stained the same color as the stand, or those screw-in table-leg levelers would so the trick without being too distracting to overall look.
