Uh Oh.... I found a big claw while cleaning.....

Yep.... you guessed it... the molt was attached to a good sized red crab, bigger than a silver dollar. A bit of late night sleuthing found his hangout area... under three layers of rock of course. I knew there was a problem as my helfrichi's were slowly disappearing.

Suggestions on baiting him out? No way I'd touch this guy without forceps!

If you have a fish trap i would bait that..or you can try to make one out of a two liter bottle and cut most of the top off but only leave big enough entry for the crab to fit in then put some food in the bottom.Sorry to hear you lost some fish to him but hopefully one of the solutions will work-Kieth

Put a piece of shrimp in a glass and set it upright against the rock you thin he is near. Crab will go down and can't get back out. Also use a red light to search at night. They don't get spooked by red as easy.
