Any one of you guys care to speculate on what's happening to this clam? It came off it's original rock that it was shipped on, so I used one of the Boston Aquafarms discs when I got it into my tank to which it adhered for a time.
Since then, I had to move my tank by relocating all the animals (including the clam) to a holding tank, and it released it's hold on that disk, and I just today noticed this about what I think is the byssal gland. See how the area below the gills is 'gritty' and rather unhealthy looking?
I'd appreciate any diagnosis and recommendations.
