UK Sea Horse supplier

Is there a trustworthy UK seahorse supplier? My local fish store have seahorses but they couldn't identify them properly, fed them with brine shrimp, and couldn't be sure that they were CB or not. So I won't be buying from them. The label on the tank just said "Yellow Seahorse Hippocampus spp.". I think they got them from the TMC in London.

Don't get any from that LFS! Wild caught no doubt.

Post this same topic on seahorse.org ... there are many UK'ers on that board. PM either Marc or Susan (screen names) on that board. They are from the UK and are quite active with seahorses.

Wild caught seahorses are not possible in the UK. I know you guys in the USA are sill able to get wild caught, but not here. If they are in the shop, they are captive bred.

TMC does most of the breeding. They dont provide the correct name of the seahorse even if they are captive bred. Most of the suppliers other than TMC are closed. You can try MidCornwall Aquatics or Creative Seahorses, which supplied mine, but I think they are no longer breeding. You should be able to get TMC for under £30 if you look for them.

Seahorse Ireland is very expensive, and they make you wait for months. Aqualogistics is very hit and miss - they sometimes dont supply for months at a time, and I would recommend not using them.

look up seahores ireland i think it is ( or island ) my lfs uses them as a supllier and they seen to have a good rep. expensive tho.............
