If the store were to be open on Sun, Don't you think people would vist it? Right now im only able to visit on Sat, "IF" im off so im trying to show the store it would benifet from being open on Sun as well.

I hate to say that I agree with Chad , ... but I do :D

Since the move I think I have only been out there twice , and that is mainly because I am working when they are open ...I would like to be able to hit it on a Sun...

Dito,
Sat-Sun works better for me also. I would say close Mon-Tues and stay open the rest of the week.

So this means it will be open Sundays when one of yous guys buys it? :hmm4::lmao::eek1::rolleye1:

I agree with Ade's assessment.

FWIW......every time I got into Atlantis in Richmond on a Sunday its ridiculously packed, much much busier than on Saturday and Friday combined. allot of people seem to hit it up on the way home from church, or use sunday as their "working on the tank" day....thus need to go by the store to pick up chemicals/salt/equipment etc. saturdays are usually spent running all over the place doing errands with the family.

wed/thurs seem to be the best times to get in shipments of coral/fish to get ready for the weekend rush.

Chuck!!! how did you get one of the smilies to look just like you?!?!?!?!?!?

I'll tell you what .... I went to Richmond today for the first time to check out thier Saltwater stores , and I will say this ... WOW ... Clean , organized and really worth the trip ...but the thing I noticed the most was the fact that they were PACKED ...on a Sunday ... It is just a good day to be open ...

I would more than likely visit on Sunday. Most people are off and can stop by after church. I know we usually travel to Roanoke on Sundays since Brian is usually off on that day.

Chuck , That is uncalled for ... We are adamantly against Smiley on Smiley violence ....:strooper:

I would like to know the peopel who said NO to give there reason. The people who said yes, gave the reason why, I would think that if you posted your vote give the reason for your answer.

My guess would be religion. I wouldn't have felt right asking someone else to work on a day I would never work. Religion and family came first. BTW I'm not voting:D

I was the third to vote no. I voted out of respect for Chris's decision. He's already posted his reasons, I figured it was religion or just for family time. He has a wife and 3 kids, spending time with them I'm sure is more valuable to him than selling a store full of corals in one day. Having your own business can turn into a burden quick. This may be a surprise to some but I'm pretty sure he didn't open the store for us, he opened it because he wanted to. His store, his rules. Give him some credit to guys, I'm sure he did plenty of research and knew that Sunday is a pretty busy retail day before he even opened the store.

I am absolutely going to give Chris all the credit in the world..He opened a top-notch store. I am sure he did research and came to a conclusion that he felt was best... But like most things in life people have varying opinions ... Mine just happens to be that Sunday would be a great day/ Best day to be open ... You don't have to force people to work on Sunday if they don't want to , but a bunch of us are of the opinion that we would like the store open on Sundays ...Whether that actually happens or not is irrelevant..The beauty of America , the freedom to have any opinion you want , be wrong even and voice it freely...... What a country ...

Besides all of that Chris has mentioned selling the store on this and other forums... So this thread may or may not be being read by someone who possibly could take it as a usefull opinion .... I have a feeling the new owners know this thread is here ....:D

Sorry kind of struck a cord.
Chuck if you understand the reason for the post then I think that you would have not wrote what you did.
Like Eric said, I/we have a lot of respect for Chris and what he did with his store. There will IMO be nobody else to match what he did in this area and it will be a great loss for the hobby.
Yes his store his rules, but this is for the new owners of the store not to force Chris to open Sunday. Having your own business is a great burden and anybody that starts one without reserch has more money than sense.
Once again this post is for the new owners of UA, they can take this info from their possible customers and do what they want with it. It is their money and rules.
As of now there seems to be a majority in favour of Sunday opening. No brainer in my eyes.
Most companies pay large amounts of money for that kind of insight. I just wish that there was a forum for my line of work. Maybe I'll place a reef tank in a control unit so that I can post on RC.
:D :D

If the new owners have no other obligations, or they can find someone reliable to work it, I think it would be great for the business.
