I was finishing up some maintenance on my nano tank this evening and shut off the pump to feed the 2 fish in the tank, when I was blind sided by this:

I took marine biology back in college (graduated 8 years ago), have not used it at all since I graduated, and didn't study snails in particular. Are they actually doing what I think they are? There was another "appendage" that snuck out from under the shell and positioned itself right on the side of the mouth and all of the "cloudiness" has been coming out of both of the snails. Guessing this is the reproduction process for these snails, but wanted to see if I am correct.


Hopefully I am because I actually called my wife over to witness all the ACTION going on in the tank. She playfully smacked my arm and told me I was in trouble for making her see it. Here are the other pictures I took, sorry for the quality. My camera isn't great.

Seriously though (which is very hard for me to do), is this what I think it is? They both were doing these tyep of acitons, but only one would allow me to take the pics. Seems like he/she is the voyeur of the 2. Wouldn't be bad to have a few extra in the clean up crew.
