un-attaching maxima attached to rubble

I got a new maxima from PA and it is attached to two pieces of rubble. I cannot see the foot in there. should I leave him attached to the rubble in case I ever want to move him or should I unattach him so he can attach to my live rock?
What is the proper procedure for unattaching Mr. Maxima?

Can anyone tell me the proper way to un-attach. I'm afraid I will mess him up if I just pull him off the rubble. Thanks

You will definately run the high risk of losing the clam if you chose to severe the foot. After some time, the clam may lose its foot naturally enabling you to move it, but I would STRONGLY recommend against removing it yourself.
