Unable to open pump!

The pump is a psk 600 best way to get the cover off. Get a 1 and quarter inch pvc t place it over the opening and mark the 3 ridges on the cover then cut down the 3 marks with a Dremel or similar then you have a key to take it off so easy.hope this helps.

Generally a small pump can be cleaned very well by running it in white vinegar overnight, and that is an easy no-headache first step. But if you think a snail, eg, could be blocking the impeller, or the impeller is replaceable, then getting into it is necessary.
 
Vinegar is always a useful try: and because vinegar in small amounts will not hurt anything (a little ph nudge and carbon dose) you needn't worry about the amount that will stay in the works of the pump itself. It dissolves calcium carbonate real fast.
