You are going to be looking at spending a large amount of money on buying a rare clown, if you want to buy a mated pair its going to be even more money. The process is time consuming, difficult and a pair can take over a year before they start breeding.
That said, occelaris are probably the "easiest" to get to breed.. some variations like the platinum and black ice sell for a nice chunk of change because they are designer breeds.
This thread is akin to asking what dog breeds are rare so you can start breeding them in your backyard.

If you are trying to breed clowns I would visit MOFIB.
I would never say that it is a hard rule that rare clowns are expensive. Some rare clowns like the Latezonatus clowns are expensive but there are rare clownfish in the hobby that are cheap and are common in the wild.
Last month I got a pair of A. Nigripes clowns and they are rare in the trade and they were less than 25 dollars each.
bear in mind that wild caught clowns can be much more difficult to care for than their tank bred counterparts. The common varieties of clowns that you see offered for sale are common for the very reason that they have a much better record of doing well in captivity. Some of the rare clownfish can be a lot harder to get adapted to captive life.

I'm not looking to breed anytime soon.I may never get too,I'm just looking for a clown that isn't as popular as the "nemo" kind.If I have to get one at a time that's fine(if that is a good thing to do).Im looking for a clown that gets about the size of a Maroon clown,smaller is ok as well.I just don't want what everyone else has.Anyone have any recommendations?

How much are you looking to spend? Foster & Smith are breeding A. mccullochi and offer a single juvenile on Diver's Den every once in a while for about $500. I can guarantee you that very few people will have a McCulloch's clownfish.
You can also get perfectly marked, captive-bred A. latezonatus juveniles for $100-$300 each. They're expensive and recently introduced (as CB), so relatively few aquarists probably have them. In size and shape, they are similar to maroons, and very beautiful, too.
You may want to look through this thread and see if anything strikes your fancy--bear in mind that many, if not most, of the species mentioned will be unavailable, or at least very hard to get.
