Uncured Rock in a Fish only

Hey I just got a nice deal on a 14lb piece of live rock its uncured I can tell this from the fact it smells like a trash can behind a fishmart. I was planning on putting it in a reef I will be setting up in a 29 I don’t have a skimmer yet and the 29 is not setup yet so heres the question. I have a 110 gallon fish only that as of right now only has a maroon clown and a blue tang in it if I stick the uncured rock in there how bad is it going to get? Any suggestions on what I can do about the rock? I don’t have the money to buy a skimmer at the moment.

Do not put the rock in your established tank. You would most likely kill everything from the cycle. You are going to need to cure it in a seperate container. All you will really need is new saltwater, a heater, and powerheads, a rubbermaid container, and test kits.
