I don't get it, how is this going to make for easier water changes? Not sure how you do water changes but I have a PVC Pipe that I use for water changes. It has a ball valve at the bottom and is about 3.5 feet long. At the top is two 90 degree elbows and a short pipe about 12" long. "J" shaped. it hooks onto the front of the tank with the short pipe into the water and the long pipe into a 5 gallon bucket on the floor. The long tube is always full of water when not in use so it starts the suction the next time you use it, the reason for the ball valve.
Each time, I'll I have to do is hook the PVC onto the tank and open the valve till I drain the desired water. New water is pumped up a hose into the tank from the mixing container next to my tank. It's basically temporary tank plumbing that is as efficient as having a drain spout right on the tank.
If there is anything easier than this without plumbing my tank to drain into the sewer pipe.
