UNknow bug on ACRO any help

glad I don't have that kind, I did notice I have red bugs on an acro, oh well, it seems like it never ends. :rolleyes:

I agree - this is getting so tiresome - it seems like it is one thing after another - first flat worms, now red bugs and AEFW and now this unknown beast - are we doing something wrong to increase the odds of these pests? we must be as if these things were this predominant in the wild all reefs would be gone

On the reefs, there are things that eat these things. Fish, crabs, etc.

I wonder if some of the fish that we call "not reef safe" are actually picking stuff like this off the corals, and not picking at the coral itself.
 
I think I have a lead on what it is. A very good source who will be named later, is telling me it is most likely a xarifiid copepod by the description, the fact that they are found in gut cavities of corals, and are parasitic.

this is the closest pic that I could find on line that mostly resembles the one I have on a slide.

I am mailing the slide and a sick coral to this person to confirm the diag.

Todd please keep up posted, if it is a copepode the gobies and wrasses should do a good job taking care of these little B*#tards.
