Unknown acro growth progress

Browsing through some old pictures of frags I've gotten and came across some neat ones. It's easy to forget how small some frags start off as. I happened upon this unknown blue acropora back in March of this year (2013). This is not an ID thread (though I wouldn't be sad if someone DID ID it). The first pic is when I mounted it high on the rocks at the top after it acclimated for a few weeks on the sandbed. While on the sandbed it didnt grow any taller, but did start to encrust over the glue. First pic is when it was about 3/4" tall, taken March 29th 2013.

Second pic was taken today 12/9/2013. So that's just a little more than 8 months growth. I've fragged it about 5 times as well, cutting 1" at a time from various spots. It's now much larger and has about 20 branches enjoy.

Not sure about the Kentucky blue grass Id. Looks to be a pretty different growth form than the pics I googled. Anyhow, I believe it. This is by far the fastest growing coral in the tank (which includes softies). I live in a small town too with almost no sps keepers so people aren't too interested in frags. This ones frags may go in the garbage along with Xenia frags as time goes on if I can't give them away lol. Sure looks nice though. I'll just let it keep going till it starts running into others

Good news to hear! Got a red planet acro frag a couple months ago. It's startin to really take off as well

Thanks! I have undertook the challenge of a mixed reef. It really is more difficult to grow sps, lps, and softies all together, than it is to specialize I can tell you that much. I sort of lean on the sps happiness side though, which has spelled doom for several species I've attempted. I subscribe to the lots of flow, over feed, and over filter philosophy. I try to have waste as close to zero as I can, but feed ALOT. I'm ok with a tad bit of brown on my sps if it means they grow fast and the fish are fat and happy. I feel like we all get confused with ultra low waste and ultra low nutrient water. I prefer low waste high nutrient. I can deal with a little algae.
