Unknown damage cause

Hello,

My SPS has been having burned tips and recession at the base starting two-three weeks ago.

I have no idea what is causing the issue because the sps were growing fine and regaining colors, but this happened all of a sudden.

LPS are all fine.

I did a 15% water change last week.

My alk is at 10dkh
cal is at 450ppm

Any ideas?

sounds like something is nibbling on it. check after lights out with blue or red filter flashlight for creepy critters at the base. also watch your fish from a distance or from an unobserved space.

it doesn't seem like anything has nip on it. the damage resembles tip burns and the like.

2 barletts, 1 tang, and some red wrasse. they have been in the tanks for half a year.

I believe there was a small swing when my auto top off got stuck with kalk. It went from 8dkh to 10.5 dkh and back down to 8dkh in 2 days.
