sorry i dont have any pics, but they are about 2 inches long, jet black with very light blueish striping and they have very large knubs all over thier bodies. any thoughts would be much appreciated

You might want to look through the Phyllidia and Phyllidiella pages and see if it's one of these:

Even if I'm misinterpreting your "knobs," you can probably find your sea slug on this page, just takes a lot of time to go through them. If they ARE phyllidiids, caution is urged. They may secrete stuff that will kill your whole tank if they are stressed, and people have become sickened just by breathing the fumes from a tank containing these little guys.
