Unknown Zoa disease. Any cures?

Hey everyone.

I am in phase 3 trying to cure this disease. I didn't have any pics because my camera isn't any good, so I am posing a link that resembles the disease 100%.

I used Furan 2, and that worked temporarily. Has anyone encountered anything like this? What worked for you? (Please don't ask me the usual tank parameter questions)

Here is the link..

Look at the pic that is headlined by "Zoa Disease? That is how some of my zoas look like. I can redip them in Furan 2, but it might come back.

Any advice?

I had a similar issue with a colony and a few polyps here and there a while back. I have no idea what caused it and it was only on wild colonies that I noticed. Only one colony ended up having much damage and the remainder was fragged, I now have 2 frags and 2 small colonies and all look rather different. Whatever it is it seems to affect the proteins that give the zoanthid its color. Hard to say if it's environmental or caused by some sort of organism.

Are you sure those are propagated Armageddons or are they a wild colony that looks similar to them?

See that link is not me, but my way of describing what is happening to my zoas. That guy with those armageddons is having the same problem as I. The polyps are either pinched or inverted to form a mushroom like shape. Then they shrink, and then die.

What type of Zoanthis are you having them problems with? I noticed it only with paly types.

I've seen that on a lot of wild colonies, too. I had something very similar lately, but it was because I moved and nuked a bunch of stuff. Furan should help, as might Lugols dips. I had a friend lightly brush some of the sloughed tissue off and his slowly recovered. he also added a yellow coris wrasse (don't think it is really a coris because it stays pretty small, but i could be wrong). All of his zoas perked up, so I think in his case, there might have been some sort of predator. I know that doesn't help narrow it down, but hope it helps.

I have been dipping them in Furan solution. I just recently did a small dip on some zoas. It doesn't look like they are doing any better. I will have to redip some of them tonight. I really don't know what to do anymore.. its really frustrating..
