Unstable LAN connection?

One of the first things I did when I got my profilux was run cat5e cable from the fish room (where the profilux is located) to my office (where my ATT Uverse wifi router is located). This gave me a solid connection for months. But the last couple of months has been troubling. Every few seconds (as little as 5 seconds to as much as a minute) the Profilux Control software searches for a connection, sometimes not finding one and disconnecting. I have zero problems connecting to the internet or anything else through via wifi. I'm running PC on my mac via Parallels and Windows 7. I upgraded to the latest version of Parallels, downloaded/installed the latest version of Profilux Control and updated to the latest firmware. None of this made any improvement. This is frustrating and makes navigating/programming the software very difficult.

Any ideas??? :(

Dennis did you just do the 5.15 Firwmare upgrade? The reason I ask is I'm having the EXACT same problem I mean to a "tee" as what you mentioned. This all happened recently. I don't know when exactly because I haven't connected lately but did starting a few days ago and no matter which version of PLC I use I get the same problem... over and over and over again....

I also have AT&T U-verse. Ironically it's not a U-Verse/Wifi problem because the ProfiLux is using a bridge adapter that my Dish receiver is using and it works without a flaw even streaming HD video etc.

Al, this started before the latest 5.15 firmware. I thought maybe installing the 5.15 would fix it, but it did not. It's reacting the exact same as before. But that is very interesting that you are having the same problem.

And another thing... sometimes it seems to look for connection so often it crashes Profilux Control.

Mine will eventually crash PLC as well.
I am not sure Al, but are you running parallels also? This seems the common element if so.
I use windows and don't have any issues, so wondering if there has been a update that is affecting you guys running parrallels alone?

No I'm running Windows 7 and this problem popped up unexpectedly. I had no problem the week before when I did the FW update (insert cringe smiley here) as I connected to it a few times directly after the FW update with no problem at all.

Al, have you made any progress on this? I have not. :(
I've done a bunch of research into Parallels settings but nothing helped. And I'm a mac guy, knowing very little about windows so it's hard for me to trouble shoot in that area.

Dennis I apologize. I knew I had posted about this somewhere but didn't remember it being here. I left my "solution" on the Tech Support forum.

I'm clueless when it comes to anything iOS but I can tell you what I did that seems to have fixed the problem at least for now.

Here's what I posted over on the Tech forum.. (I hope it helps)

I started tinkering in the PLC and went into "Connections". I created a new one identical to my existing one (TCP/IP) and changed the timeout from 1000 to 20000 which seemed to at least help. I tinkered around with it for over 30 minutes and didn't get a single disconnect.

I think that worked!

When i went to create the new one, i see that the default was 20000. So where the heck did 1000 that we were using come from??? Did profilux change the default?

Thanks! :)

All I can think of is at some point it was changed during a FW upgrade or something. I didn't think I had ever changed mine either LOL but I just assumed maybe I had one late night after a few cocktails :)

Mine is still working rock solid after several days so hopefully that did resolve the problem.
