Is it unsual for those 2 polyps to be conjoined like that? They are on the same stalk. and what exactly are these? my buddy tried to tell me they were nuclear greens which i know they arent because i have a colony of about 60+ of them

I have a small colony of similarly appearing zoos.

It is a common color variant import from Vietnam.

One of the polyps is split exactly like in your photo.

It seems to be reproducing via longitudinal fission versus the normally used basal budding.

thats awsome, kyle. majoring in marine biology! i thought about doin something like that but i have no idea where to even start to get into that or where to look for a job when i'm done with college

Thanks. It kind of show how large of an influence a hobby, that becomes a passion, can have on your life. It started when my uncle got me a freshwater tank for my birthday when I was 8. Became a hobby, volunteered at LFS starting at like age 12, first paid job was at a PetsMart. Now I am finishing up my senior year undergraduate and preparing for Grad School. I even got to take a Marine Reef Ecology class in Honduras for a winter semester, but my greatest experience yet is interning at the retail coral aquaculture facility I do now. Not going to name the place as it may be against the rules here on RC. It is amazing everything I have learned from my boss/mentor, we will just call him "Dr.". Anyways what started out as a hobby is now pretty much my career/life. I plan to do either conservation/ecology work or biochemical work with marine organism for medical use in humans.
