Up and over sump plumbing

Working on the plumbing for my new sump and was considering using an external pump (snapper). The sump has a 1.5" bulkhead in the back right corner about 12" above the floor of the tank. Could I install an "upside down u" through the bulkhead to feed the snapper? I vaguely remember seeing a few pictures some time ago but I can't find them on the search.

Thanks.

The Snappers are not self priming, meaning you would have to find a way to get water in that 'U', be it back flowing from the tank, or sticking an air hose up the 'u' and sucking the air out, or by some other means.
I would also put a ball valve and union on the external portion of the 'u' going back down to the pump, so once it is in use, you can disconnect and service the pump without loosing your prime.
