Update 4.02

I made the update from 4.00 to 4.02, but I'm having problems with the PropellerControl now.

The PropellerControl is connected to L3 on the Profilux and controls the fans according to the temperature. It has always worked until I updated to 4.02.

The Profilux now always sends the maximum voltage to the L3 port.
If I put 10 in "U.Max (V)" on the L3 line in the 1-10V-Interfaces, the Profilux sends 10V out of the L3 port.
When I put 6 on the L3 line, the Profilux always sends 6V out of the L3 port.
The temperature is no longer used to control the voltage.

This has always been the L3 line:

Interface : L3
Function : Temperature 2 Controller output
U.min.(V) : 1
U.max(V) : 10

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Illumination Control still functions ok, so the lights are still being dimmed.

I did store all settings and sensor data and reloaded them after updating.
I even take screenshots of each screen in the PofiluxControl to compare them after updating and everything is exactly the same.

I am also confused with your question sorry, probably just me

But it reads that you are setting it to 10V and then saying you are getting 10V as if that is an issue??

Quote "If I put 10 in "U.Max (V)" on the L3 line in the 1-10V-Interfaces, the Profilux sends 10V out of the L3 port."

if you set it to 10 then you will get 10.

Sorry what part am I not getting?

If I put 10 in "U.Max(V)", the Profilux ALWAYS sends 10V out of the L3 port. This should normally be maximum 10V and the actual value should be between 0 and 10V according to the temperature. But the temperature control no longer seems to work.

Argh Sorry Ok.

This is due to the change in the software to control the PTC's it is not a fault but just a change in the way the L ports are configured with termperature control

One of our software support guys will contact you directly today on how to now program this, we will then post on the forum in a seperate thread on how this now should be done.

The changes were made to add control for the PTC's

No, not at all we just forgot to tell everyone of the L port changes :(

Matthias is on holiday until the 1st September so i am left holding the baby.

I tested the analog output function of the L-ports for temperature control and could not find a problem.

As Michael already mentioned we had to make some slight changes in this function.
The threshold (the temperature where the L-port starts to output a voltage) has been moved.

The voltage swing vs. temperature depends on the hysteresis of the temp.-settings. Please increase the hysteresis to 1°C and check what happens.

I need more information.

Maybe you can send me
- ProfiLux type + exact configuration (which card in which slot)
- sensordata + settings

please via email

Hi Matthias,

In this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1437666

You said that the 4.02 update would add "Save" and "Load" buttons as menu option, so that users with 800x600 screens would still be able to use profiluxcontrol. I just downloaded 4.02 and I do not see the save and load options in the File menu.... please let me know if I have missed how to work around those buttons, as they still render offscreen for me.

Thanks,
Ryan

edit: I think I see the right options under the "Communication" drop down menu? Looks like that's all I need???
