Update: My nano post-cyano outbreak

I posted a while back when I was having crazy cyano issues, and thought my fellow nano-ers would appreciate a positive outcome to a terrible experience. This is at peek outbreak, and then a pic I took about a week back, roughly 6 weeks after applying the cure (ChemiClean).

It was a long, horrible road, but most everything seems to be bouncing back nicely. Lost some snails and a couple corals along the way. I thought my duncan was done for, but it has slowly come back to about 75% of its former glory. The orange zoas in the upper-right never really recovered, but haven't really died either.

Did you lose corals due to the Chemiclean or due to the cyano? Asking because cyano is doing a number on my tank as well

It was definitely due to the cyano. Degraded over time, and just lost a long, hard fight. My hammer was receded for a good couple months, and it never recovered once the cyano was gone.

After about 72 hours, the cyano was completely eliminated. Nothing died once I added the ChemiClean. I followed the directions exactly and had no issues, but I'd still consider it to be a last option. As you can see, I was to that point. A trusted LFS employee highly recommended it (and even told me to get it on Amazon because it was much cheaper than the store's price, if that tells you anything about the genuine nature of the recommendation). I'm glad he did.

looks great now i used chemiclean around 2 years ago stuff works great
