Update Of GBTA

I bought it half dead at a retail place under horrible conditions. No lighting, no flow and it was in a tank with about another 150 dying/dead BTAs. This is it now in my 30 gallon cube. :). Funny how half of it bubbles and half doesn't. Who knows?

Like with most BTAs, the camera doesn't really bring out its true pigmentation. In person the BTA has way more green to it and looks great under 14 Kelvins. When fully expanded its about 8-9 inches depending on the time of the day and has thus far not splitted.

Good job on the rescue. I've done this for the two bta's and lta I have. I look around and if I see a relatively health anemone that is still sticky/attaches with no physical damage and inflated I'll buy it so it doesn't waste away at the lfs.

In the future I'm planning on setting up a large tank (~8'x24''x30'') for rescues and then possible resale as healthy anemones that are use to aquarium life. Not looking for profit.

stupid question dont flame me:

if we buy these, dont we encourage them to do it again? just like the govt not bailing out mortgage companies, it creates a moral hazard.

i dont have an opinion yet, just asking :)
