Update On Exotic Jungle In Motown

Nathan4Wvu

Do you like Phil Collins?
Well i know this is going to Pi@@ some people off i know it did me but the exotic jungle's huge display cube with basketball sized clam GONE!!!!! Clam is the only living survivor every thing else gone. IM SO MAD it all because of those no experance need employes they are clueless. All they had in the salt water section was like 2 pieces of LR. Cube tank GONE... Live rock now base rock....Large elgance large skelton!!!! clam who knows where its gone but they said someone purchased it.

This is more than just sad news. For those who are not aware the elegance coral that was in that system was well over a decade old. One of the largest specimens I have ever seen, the clam was equally large and this system was so perfectly kept that it not only grew to an enormous size but thrived. The fact that no one there tried to stop this really irritates me the most. This is a good example of why we propagate healthy species of coral. If someone would have gotten a frag of that elegance that animal would still in essence be alive. With no living remnants a great and rare coral is now reduced to nothing more than a large skeleton. This is what happens when we become arrogant, lazy, or just loose interest in our hobby. Balance is lost and once stable systems will begin to fail unless there is an intervention of some kind. Nathan you tried, but sometimes stupidity, and arrogance win the day Im afraid.

Sad news indeed.

As it was looking worse and worse i tried to buy stuff or at least ask question about it but they were rude as H@ll about every thing I said to them

I don't know i never saw here there ever i didin't even know who she was so she may have.. This whole thing sucks i go there all the time and now i have nothing to look at till i get my tank up here. That was like my tank away from home. Also the White cobra in the snake section is gone and so is the HUGE lizard but the python is still there

Hmm does'nt sound as if anyone is running the place to me, at least anyone with any idea of what some of the animals need to stay alive.

Sounds like Lisa left town. That cobra was hers. So was the reef but it isn't so easy to move that. I hate to hear about that reef. It was one of the prettiest I have ever seen. Pitty about the shop, too. It was one of my favorites. Always clean, well stocked, well organized, great staff etc. etc. sometimes things go south I suppose. Almost makes me want to cry.

I can still think of three top-notch shops within easy driving distance. Good thing for that huh?

Three good shops aroung morgantown??? what and where are they?? Im going to Pittsburgh this weekend to check out some pet stores.. well acutall to take my Girl friend shopping but the deal was if i drive we get to stop at any pet store i see. So ive got her because im the only one that knows my way around!! lol

I found some pics I took of that tank in its prime so I scanned them so everyone could enjoy them. Too bad about the tank though.

Hey guys go ahead and put up a memorial thread with these pics on there. Im sure most new hobbyists around here have no clue what a healthy Elegance coral looked like. Plus any pics of the giant clam that show scale would be nice. I was lucky enough to get to see it last year thankfully.
