Update on my nems

Well its been over a week since my tank breakdown and move to my 75g holding tank for my 4 carpets plus all my other livestock..Yes its crowded but everyone is doing well so far. Of course my haddonis keep walking all over the place but it was expected and I expect them to keep doing it as there is no sand. Blue gig not really moving, he pretty much stays put. Here is a pic of them plus a pic of my new build that i'm working on.

You could fill some tupperware containers with sand to keep your haddoni from moving. If it's going to be a while before you have your tank up and running, it may not be good for them moving around for an extended period.

I'm hoping i will not have to keep them in this tank for too long....i don't have any small Tupperware that would fit in this tank for them so they will have to make the best of it. It is a good idea though if i had the room to do it.

The other way is to make a prison for your carpet. Hang a basket and put the carpet in it. It cannot get out. A moving carpet in this crowned tank can be disaster for some of the coral.
Good luck
The stand looks great.

Where can i get those baskets?

Anywhere. Go to Target. One of those plastic basket with solid bottom but perforated side. Any size you want. Just attach them to the topside of your tank.

Carpet escaped!

Carpet escaped!

Don't know if this has happened to anyone but i put one of my carpets as suggested (green carpet since he was being so difficult and not staying put) in a "prison" basket.....well after a few days this morning i found this:

Wow i was totally shocked this morning and initially i couldn't even find him...i turned on the lights and he was all the way in the bottom back of the tank. I guess they can get out...i'm thinking he got out because the basket was not at the very top and was submerged half way down in the tank.

The one I got at the lfs used one of those baskets but he didnt submerge it it water it was clipped to the top of the tank.

I agree with James. That is not a prison. Get a real prison. Get a larger basket and put all the way to the top, then he cannot get out.

This green carpet has had a rough last couple of days...after escaping he got stung pretty bad by my bubble coral and then he got sucked in by my skimmer pump for who knows how long. I got him back now in the basket and he is up on top so there is no getting out. But i am concerned now, his mouth has been gaping for the last few days and tonight there was quite a bit of black waste all around his mouth. Should i be concerned or will he recover from all this stress? Its unfortunate my new build is taking this long but i have no choice at this moment to keep him in this holding tank.
