Update on "spot" the blue spot jawfish

Ok so I had a long story about the Blue Spot Jawafish that I won at the raffle ($40 in tickes just for him)..... IE crashed and I lost it.... anyway... long story short... He went in made a den was there this morning, I took my little one to ballet came home and something made my ASM-G2 skimmer was jammed and quit working.... I open it up and find "Spot"

Needless to say my rock anenome had what was left of him for lunch....

Im so f'n mad right now I want to take my tank down....

RIP "Spot"

Atleast I got to enjoy him for the 2 hours that he was acclimating and for my morning coffee.....
 
Man, sorry to hear that... :(

They are know to be little PITA's. Almost like their goal in life is to off themselves at their owner's despair.

The overflow was the olny un covered spot on the tank....
 
Yea I am over at JBMynes' house right now, we were both like "ummm what the heck" only not so nice words, he was rather angry and I'm sure he still is. He's wanted that fish for a long time... He had a major turrets moment when he found the fish. Not really funny but thinking back and remembering all of the different things he said, it makes me chuckle lol.

And yea the little bugger jumped in to the over-flow, went into the sump, swam through the baffles, through the chaeto, and jumped into the skimmer chamber... That little dude was adventurous while it lasted, it's a shame, it was an awesome fish...
 
Seems like he had a plan on how to get out. Maybe he thought that if you emptied the skimmer cup with him in it, he could escape down the drain. Sorry for your loss. He was a very cool lookin fish.

Yeah he must have got up to go to the bathroom during that part of Finding Nemo. He forgot to throw the rock into the impeller first!
 
you know I think the worst part about all of it is that I didnt even have time to take a picture of him.... man Im still all kinds of grumpy....
 
Yeah I was up there and he almost came home with me... I think I might just pick up a pair of Yellow Headed Jawfish... I spent $60 in raffle tickets last night and Im pretty sure about $40 worth went in to the blue spot.... I love those fish, But Im cheap and I dont think I could spend that much on a fish that only grows to 3.5 inches.... as much as I love them its just not worth that much to me... the yellow heads are pretty much the same fish it just does not have the cool little spots...
 
that sucks i was standing next to you when you won it and you were stoked. I also know you mentioned you would never spend that much on a fish i cant say i blame ya.

I remember when i started with cichlids and 10 dollar fish were being chewed by powerheads i was ****ed about those.

i take it you will be using a prefilter on your overflow for now on.
 
Yeah... I have a sheet of larger Enkamat that is cut out and in there as we speek..... I thought that I would have atleast a day to get that done....
