got weird spots on glass and live rock, they don't move but not sure what they are. i have always had them but really bugs me cause i haven't found any info on them. the ones on glass look like something is underneath the outerlayer of white spot. Any here are some pics of my 75 gallon sorry for bad pics, don't know how to use a camera very well.

The spots are protists !
AKA Foraminifera, Forams for short.
They are harmless grazers. That usually die out and dont presist in aquariums.

Ever heard of limestone ? They are largely to thank for creating it.

When present it usually means you have some LR that didn't go through total die off during the curing process.
More than a few LFS use tap water with out dechlorinating it, to fill up their LR tubs to cure new live rock. The forams die quickly in that scenario.

You are lucky to see them. Think of them as little de-evolved sand dollars.

thanks, they never seemed to die off these came from my 29 gallon setup that was up for 1 year than moved everything into 75 gallon. You can tell which ones are new since there still bright white. i guess thats good they never went away.

I get something like that in my tank. Always find them inside the overflow box of my skimmer and inside my canister filter. Here lately i've been seeing them at night on the glass. They look like a milky white glob of goo that kind looks like a snail on the underside. Whatever they are they move quite a bit.
