In Memoriam
Well I've been gone for a few days and I came to notice my Maroon Clown has a few black spots on his maroon stripes. I don't know what this is but I'm quite worried.. Also I got some hermit crabs from the beach this weekend, wanna make sure he is reef safe.. thanks in advance.

temp is 80, and my parameters are all average.. tanks about two months old. Also this morning I woke up to my emerald crab upside down dead... =( You think it's because I added another em crab? I found a weird emerald crab, he is red! lol.. I thought he wasn't one at first, but is identical in shape and size, but just not color.. Any help on any of my topics?

What are your water parameters? The tank is quite new and maybe it has not completely cycled yet. As for the clown, did you QT or just put in your tank? Is he eating? Never add an animal that you can not ID. That crab may be the your culprit with your emerald. It may also bring in a disease you do not want...

OKay thanks a lot guys.. My clown is just fine today (thank god) more active than any other fish and is eating like a pig.. His color is back to normal.. =) =) I'm also taking out the hermit crab unless somebody disagrees?

lol already done! =) Okay another question that has come to my attention. Today I bought my mom a black pecurla clown. She already has a tomato clown in the tank which is very small, very timid, and barely EVER leaves from hiding in the rocks. As soon as I put the BP in the tank he comes out and now they are following each other and rubbing up against each other (NOT BITING, but seem very peaceful) Not acting with any aggression at all, the only quick movements I've seen was the tomato doing some weird movement kinda looks like a seizure or a twitch.. I dont know! lol. Help would be much appreciated!

Mixing clown species is not generally recommended. It usually ends with the death of the less dominant one.

I've also been told that if the clowns look nothing alike then they should be fine.. Is this true? I have tons of rock work in my tank, and they still seem to be fine though.. No aggression yet, going on about an hour or two of being together..
