Upgrade from 90 to 180

Im considering upgrading my 90 gallon reef to a 180 gallon reef, but have absolutely no idea what exactly I'd have to do. Im running using 2 box filters, and 2 led's. I have 6 fish in the tank and a ton of rock/corals. I would love to setup a sump, but don't know how exactly to set one up, or how much all of this would cost. Before saying that I need to research, which I know I need to do, how much would this cost me to buy a sump, and such a big tank? This is going to be a HUGE project for me, knowing that im only 15 years old, but this upgrade is something i've wanted to do for over a year. If you could give me some pointers and costs, that help greatly! One other thing though... Where would I put the fish while upgrading!? I only have a 20 gallon long tank, and I have the following fish: Melanarus Wrasse, Copperband Butterfly, Black Occelaris, Hippo Tank, Yellow tang, Flame Angle. Also 2 starfish that come out once every 3 months or so. :mad2: Thanks in advance!!!

It would be very easy for you to spend at least three to four thousand dollars on such a set-up. Don't forget the cost of the stand, the lights, the filtration, as well as the tank and sump as you've mentioned. Then there are the costs of sand and rocks, test kits, salt and additives, and pumps to push the water around. Oh yes, and fish and corals. Then there are the ongoing maintenance expenses of water and electricity, heating and humidity control. Some things can be found at bargain prices used or on sale, but this requires collecting bits and pieces over a year or two.

Not an undertaking for the financially challenged.

When I was 15 (a distressingly long time ago) all I had was a 30 gal - so you're ahead of the game!
