I think you should go with a L shape tank in that corner. Half in in wall and the other half out. That would be cool....

Are you buying all of these tanks new or do you have some of them. I am a uniform type person where this many tank sizes would have to be in line by size or it might freak me out.
If you are buying all new tanks I would probably do three. 300 plus 2 others that were identical to each other.

Size won't bother me at all. No OCD here :). I do not have any of the tanks yet. New or used I don't care but I want them all glass.

I would think softies and mushrooms in the same tank would be good.

Oooor buy one big tank and have it a mixed reef. Kind of like in the wild. :-) Just it will be in your wall.

No mixed reef. I have tried that.

If you are in the Largo area anytime you can check out the coverage with my 2 reefledlights fixture over the 250dd. At least for now I do not think I need any supplement lighting and the color is very near what I think radiums look like.

I may take u up on that.

I think you could put the zoas, mushrooms, softies and nem tank on the same sump.

I would have the frag tank as standalone (to isolate pests and also to have separate system from a disaster recovery standpoint) and have the SPS as standalone. I wouldn't put the nems on the same system as SPS in case one walks into a powerhead or something - it might wipe out your SPS tank, but it shouldn't bother the other corals much.

You really should only need to run the CaRx on the main SPS display - the rest should be ok with kalk topoff.

I agree with all of that thanks. With the qt tanks hope not to have to worry about pests.

The whole point is to get the tanks out of the house.

your going to need a bigger house...
Won't be able to afford that after the tank build :)

The room will be 10 x 17 feet for the tanks

Just let me know if you want to stop by. As long as I am around you are more than welcome.

What skimmers are you planning or do you already have them? I have the Coralvue Elite 220i and it is so far a great skimmer.

So is the 300 the only in wall tank or will all the tanks be in wall? Or softies and things out in the garage?

I haven't gotten to picking out skimmers yet. I have a small cone rated for about 100 gal and my I tech 200 I have been running on a 240 gal sps system and it's been doing great. It will prob end up on the softy, zoa, rid Yuma system and I will have to get a skimmer for the display.

Only the display will be in wall.

On another note in this build. You aren't looking to add a return in the garage room for your ac are you? That much salt air will destroy your evaporator.

To be clear by return u mean the type that sucks the air back to the ac unit and has the filter correct?

Yeah I think that's what he is talking about the return from the air conditioning system and I agree the salt air will kill your air handler ..I wouldn't do it....I only ran a supply for my garage sump room and it keeps it cool ....but I will tell you in the winter time when my ac is not running that room gets quite humid.....you can see moisture on the walls so you might have to open the doors at that time and have a fan moving the air around

That is correct.

Exactly snake. You may need an exhaust fan in there for the winter. You could run that off a humidistat if you wanted. You may even want to consider running it off CO2 as well.

I know what I spend on my just 300DD.

With that large investment in mind.

Maybe you should enjoy what you have and buy a nice used boat to enjoy some casual weekend grouper fishing??

You already have the F150 to tow it around.

Not the worst idea.

:)

Lol, I don't know Bobby V, I think I rather have the tank, I pay way more attention to it than my boat.

If I had a place to store a boat without paying $200-300 a month whether I use it or not I would have a boat instead myself.
